Find and replace text online

Use this tool when you know the exact word or phrase to change. Enter the text to find, enter its replacement, and replace every matching occurrence in the pasted text. Literal search means punctuation and other special characters are treated as ordinary text.

Case-sensitive replacement

Enable case sensitivity when apple and Apple should be treated differently. Leave it disabled when capitalization is irrelevant. Check the result when changing names or abbreviations because capitalization can carry meaning.

Replace whole words

Whole-word matching prevents a short search term from changing the same letters inside a longer word. Searching for cat as a whole word can change “cat” without changing “category”. This is helpful for product names, labels, and recurring terms.
